Week 2 Marathon Training Goals

This week’s goals are…

Respect my Garmin 

I have been devoted to my Garmin GPS watch for years. Typically I listen and respond to it’s every beep, chirp, and vibration that it sends my way. That is until recently where I blatantly ignored it’s every whim and setting that I have previously set. Starting this week when it buzzes and beeps at me to run or walk regardless of how strong and confident I feel that I could push through or the later half I am too tired and weak, I will continue to do as it is instructing me. This is why I spent the big bucks on this watch, right?


Diversity in Food Selections 

I am a creature of habit and am very content to eat the same thing day in and day out. Surprisingly this is not good for your body and could you prevent your body from losing weight. This is going to be difficult, but I am going to try to not eat the same thing 2 days in a row. My goal this week to ROTATE, ROTATE, and ROTATE some more regardless if it is for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

I am also going to stick to 3 main meals and 2 snacks a day. No more grazing during the day or eating Ghirardelli White Chocolate morsels throughout the day. It is a very bad habit, but it is so easy and delicious to grab a small handful every time I go into the kitchen! My sweet tooth is my worst enemy!!

I will check in again with a Week 2 Marathon Training update on Tuesday to let you know how the week is going, and if I am on target to reach this week’s goals.

  1. Love the “A goal without a plan is just a dream” quote!!! I have a hard time respecting my Garmin too.. I might make that a goal too :o)

    • Why is it so hard to respect the Garmin? I’m glad that I’m not the only one out there with that problem. Maybe there is a support group our Garmin’s could go to, kinda like the support group in Small Frys for discarded kids’ meal toys!! 🙂 Only this one will have 310’s, 405’s, 410’s, and 610’s, sitting around complaining about their users who can’t respect them!!

  2. lol I have trouble respecting it too. I have all sorts of alarms set up on mine and pretty much ignore it all. I really wish I used the virtual racer option more often because it could be pretty fun to race the little runner on the screen. What Marathon plan are you following?

    • I am currently following the Goofy Race and a Half Challenge Marathon plan. I would love to be able to say that I actually followed a RunDisney training plan. What plan are you following for your training?

  3. Grazing is a tough one for me!! My husband is always making fun of me because I snack too much. Good luck on your goals!

    • Grazing is so easy too! I feel less guilty when I grab small handfuls somehow it seems as though it should not count!!
