Good Sunday afternoon! Who has been watching the Olympics? I am simply glued to the TV and can’t turn if off. I get the feeling that my DVR is going to be working over time the next couple of weeks!
It is hard to belive that 4 weeks ago I started my marathon training. I am starting to get in the swings of things and I have been really diligent in regards to following my training schedule. I can honestly say that I completed all 3 training sessions even though I was out-of-town for 2 of the sessions. I simply adjusted my schedule and ran 2 of training days prior to leaving for Arizona on Thursday.
Was this week a success? YES!! I not only accomplished my training sessions, but also was able to spend time with my brother and his fiance.
I know that I have mentioned this before, but I am constantly learning more and more about myself as a runner. This week I learned that getting up early to fit in a run or to survive the summer heat is not as bad as I had thought. Though I was not in love with the extreme heat, I actually enjoyed running early, I felt accomplished and ready to take on the rest of the day. I might have start doing more early runs! As I write this post I am counting down the minutes until I leave Scottsdale and return home to LA so I could enjoy the cooler temperatures. Besides there’s no place like home!!
QOTD: How do you survive the summer heat and manage to get in your runs?
