July Monthly Goal Rewind and August Goals

I woke up this morning in shock that today was August 1st. I mean seriously where is the time going? I can’t believe that there are only 5 months left of the year. If feels like yesterday when I decided to run 13 half marathons in 13 months. August will be bittersweet  as I only have 2 races left! OMG!! I can’t believe it!! Though I still can’t always see it I know that I have come a long way since last September when I started this challenge. I can feel it in my bones, August is going to be a great month! Everything is starting to click with my body in terms of running, I am adapting to eating Gluten-Free, and I am starting to notices the positive effects eating gluten-free has on my body.

Being that it is August 1st also means it’s time to take a look back at my July goals and see how I did:

1.) Respect my Garmin (B-) I did better than expected though I still poop out during my run and at times need to walk a bit than running.

2.) Discover 2 local Gluten-Free restaurants: (C) I visited one restaurant, Maria’s Italian Kitchen. At least I’m half way there with my goal, but I still need to discover other local options, not everyone I eat out with wants to go to Whole Foods! Thanks Mom for indulging me!

3.) Get More Sleep: (A+) At the least I accomplished one goal all the way! I made sure that I listened and respected my body and gave it the full 8 hours of sleep that I needed.

Which brings me to my goals for August.

1.) Be fully ready for the Disneyland Half: Most importantly make sure that my stomach is under control.

2.) Read 2 Books: I believe that it is important to balance mind, body, and soul.

3.) Bikini ready by Labor Day: My body might be ready for a bikini, I however am still lacking the confidence and positive body image to brave wearing a bikini. More importantly I need to work on accepting my body.

4.) Respect my Garmin: See July goals.

5.) Discover at least 1 local Gluten-Free restaurantSee July goals. It is never good when you are regarded as a “REGULAR” at Whole Foods for dinner.

6.) Sync my GarminSharing my progress and daily miles via Daily Mile and the little widget on the right will help keep me accountable!! You can always check in with me and track my progress based on the Daily Mile widget on the right side of your screen!
