Make a Run for it Training Tuesday’s…Reading Material

I am so excited to be starting a new series on 13 Going on Crazy called Make a Run for it… Training Tuesdays!!! Every Tuesday I will be discussing all things that have to do with training! One of my biggest resources  in regards to my training is discovering various running books at my local bookstore. One can always find running related reading material on my nightstand. On my most recent trip to the bookstore I came across The Runner’s World Big Book of Marathon and Half-Marathon Training, which I simply can’t put down. This book was written by three of my favorite running gurus, who are also editors of Runner’s World’s, Jennifer Van Allen, Bart Yasso, and Amby Burfoot.

Obviously this book contains everything one would need to know about running, it’s not called the Big Book for no reason. From nutrition to training to injury prevention, this book covers everything. They even provide readers six full and half marathon training plans. I love that I am able to pick up the book and flip to the many real life marathon stories and tips.

The Big Book of Marathon and Half Marathon Trainingg is a great reference book for both experienced and those who are new runners. I know that I will be reading and rereading this book for years to come.
